How long have you worked here?

How did you find the job here? 

I found the sample management position from our own John Knoud. We previously worked together at a large Environmental Laboratory. I was reluctant at first, because I was employed at my last company for 6 years, and I had never worked in the cannabis industry before. However; I love smoking cannabis, and was excited by the idea of showing the benefits of what a Sample Management department can bring to the company. I’m very happy I listened and made the jump to MCR!

What does your work day look like? 

My day starts with checking emails, and attending the morning meeting. Next, I check the Monday/slack/metrics and address anything from there. Then, I get my son Alex ready and off to school.  After arriving on-site I do a safety walk through at the lab. Then I meet with the team to see if they have any questions, requests, or just to see how they are doing. I finish my day with meetings, emails, tasks, or projects. Depending on what’s going on really dictates my schedule, but I try to keep myself consistent, and available for my team.

What’s your favorite part of the job?

 My favorite part of the job is working with my colleagues on projects. I like listening to different ideas, and perspectives that I might not have seen. It’s really fun when we come together for a common goal.

What’s your relationship with cannabis? 

I have used cannabis for over 20+ years for numerous reasons, but I think the biggest reason is that it helps me feel connected to myself. I would say our relationship is very positive. 

What do you like to do outside of work?

I love traveling up North to snowboard with friends. In the summer I enjoy hiking, paddleboarding/kayaking, mountain biking ect. I love teaching my son how to longboard. Basically, I would be down for anything exciting!
